digital tomosynthesis (3D) mammography
Refurbished Hologic Selenia Dimensions — Hologic's flagship digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography) platform and the most-installed 3D mammography system in the United States. Combines full-field digital mammography (FFDM) and tomosynthesis on the same gantry using an amorphous-selenium direct-capture detector, with C-View synthesized 2D imaging that lets a tomosynthesis exam stand in for a separate 2D acquisition (reducing dose and exam time). Optional SmartCurve curved compression paddle improves patient comfort while preserving image quality. Typical clinical use spans screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, and image-guided procedures (with a Hologic Affirm biopsy add-on by configuration). The Selenia Dimensions remains the standard against which other 3D mammography systems are compared, and parts/service availability is excellent. Compared to a Hologic Selenia 2D-only platform, the Dimensions adds tomosynthesis and C-View synthesized 2D. Compared to the newer Hologic 3Dimensions, it gives up some workflow refinements but lands at a meaningfully lower capital cost. As a refurbisher, MIS sources, refurbishes, deinstalls, transports, installs, calibrates (ACR/MQSA), applications-trains, and supports the Selenia Dimensions with parts inventory and engineer-led service.
